List of
falsified certificates

This list of falsified certificates is based on information that has come to the attention of mdc medical device certification GmbH in the form of a pictorial representation.
mdc medical device certification GmbH has become aware of.
As a rule, mdc has no knowledge of the originator or disseminator of the counterfeits. The data below show the information on the falsified certificates.
Irrespective of this, certificates with parts of these data may be valid.

Interesting facts about the validity of a certificate

All certificates issued by mdc since 2014 in accordance with QM standards, i.e. EN ISO 13485 and 9001, as well as all certificates in accordance with European Directives 93/42/EEC and 98/79/EC and Regulations (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) and 2017/746 (IVDR) can be checked.

To do this, enter the registration number of the certificate to be checked. It is displayed whether the certificate is valid. The certification basis and scope are also displayed along with the period of validity and certified locations. The confirmation of the check lists valid certificates of the same certification basis for the respective company if the requested certificate itself is no longer valid.

A certificate is valid until the end of its term, if it has not been terminated, suspended, withdrawn or replaced by another certificate. Certificates according to QM standards have a standard term of 3 years, certificates according to the European Regulations (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) and 2017/746 (IVDR) have a standard term of 5 years.

Certificates lose their validity at the end of their term at the latest. The conformity assessment process therefore stipulates a re-certification. After successful re-certification, a new certificate is issued.

Regulations (EU) 2023/607 and 2024/1860 specify longer validity periods for certain certificates in the transition period from European Directive 93/42/EEC (MDD) to Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) resp. from European Directive 98/79/EC (IVDD) to Regulation (EU) 2017/746 (IVDR). These longer validity periods are displayed accordingly in the output of the validity check.

Expired certificates are displayed as invalid. However, if other valid certificates of the same normative base exist at the respective company, this is indicated by the certificate check.

Certificates can become invalid before the end of the validity period if, for example, they are replaced by new, amended certificates or the certification is terminated, suspended or withdrawn during the validity period.

Please contact us immediately. We will check whether the certificate you have is forged.

Forged certificates suggest an untrue statement of conformity and therefore represent a potential risk. We are therefore legally obliged to report any forgery that comes to our attention to the authorities as well as to inform the public about it. A list of forged certificates that have come to our attention can be found here.
